The Pifco story

A story that started in 1900.

Home life changes, but a little help always has its place. Explore the ideas and familiar comforts that run through Pifco’s past, then discover practical products for the way you live today.

Manchester, 1900

It began with lighting.

Joseph Webber founded the Provincial Incandescent Fittings Company, later known simply as Pifco.

As electricity changed life at home, the range grew with it. What started with lighting expanded into practical products for the daily routine - small conveniences that brought new possibilities into British homes.

Small objects. Stories of home.

A morning cuppa, a finishing touch and a little extra warmth: familiar comforts run through Pifco’s past. These three designs offer a glimpse of the brand’s place in the routines of home.

Tea-o-matic

Around 1954

Tea-o-matic

Its promise was simple: set the clock and wake to freshly brewed tea. Bringing together an electric alarm clock and automatic tea-making, the Tea-o-matic added a little ingenuity to the morning routine.

Electric curling tongs

1950–1960

Electric curling tongs

Getting ready has its own small rituals. With the promise “to keep every curl perfect”, Pifco’s electric tongs brought hair styling into the home. From a carefully shaped curl to the final touch before heading out, they were part of making a look your own.

Warmasphere

1961–1963

Warmasphere

A little extra warmth can make a room feel more inviting. The Warmasphere electric fan heater was one of Pifco’s answers to a familiar household need: keeping comfortable when the temperature dropped.
